Been away couple years, whoah?
I just have the first guild wars at the moment.
I have a lev 20 War/Ran, a lev 20 Ele/Mes and am working on getting my monk/ranger to level 20 as well (he's 16 atm) I've been away about a year and a half or more... I just got caught up with most of the changes etc.. My question is, where is a few really good places to farm aside from FoW and UW? I'm looking mainly for extremely valuable drops like ecto's etc. What would be the hands down best place for farming? Would it be UW/FoW? If it is UW/FoW, where would be a good alternative place to farm? I'm not necessary looking for gold, but mainly to gamble for super expensive drops, or just real rare drops. I know alot of people dont like to give away good spots, but if you feel so inclined, you could always PM me... Regardless, Even though I'm back playing again, i feel like a newbie with all these changes. It's crazy! Thanks. |

with the introduction of loot scaling and exemption list...most rare items are non existent in PVE. In prophecies you can still get some nice money out of perfect magmas shields...hrm...can't think of much else. The best farming is in Nightfall...Domain of Anguish....torment items...still bring nice sums of cash...as well as the ultra rare drops from the HoH chest...golden dwarven axe, celestial sword...stygian reaver to name a few...other than that ....i really can't think of any place or item that is worth a ton of money.... My suggestion is to start saving money....and wait for GW:EN to come out and hope for some good quick drops..to sale for some nice cash...before the rare items there become common.
Good luck and welcome back... |

So in guild wars proph, where would you guys farm if you had to? Your top 3 places?
Oh and the big question I forgot to ask, is it worth farming on hard? Last edited by relic2279; Aug 03, 2007 at 03:21 AM // 03:21.. |

If you want to make any kind of gold at all you have to farm in HM, unless it's UW or FoW. and there aren't many places to farm in Prophecies anymore, well places that give you good drops. Only thing I think is worth anything and easiest to farm for is the Icy Dragon Sword. NF and Factions have lots a good places to farm, NF drops inscribable weapons too and there's also DoA Gems that sell for a bit. Most farming in Prophecies is dead.

Yes, hard mode is definitely worth it. In fact, there is little reason to farm Normal Mode if you have access to Hard Mode.
Personally I farm for merch food in prophecies, there are very few non-inscriptable (nightfall only) rare skins that people want. Personally I find Vanquishing the Cursed Lands, Hydras, and Frost Minotaurs to be the most profitable of the Prophecies areas (outside of UW/FoW - which I detest doing). The Cursed Lands seems to have a *great* drop rate of golds if you are into title hunting. For rare items, I don't really know. Rare has really changed with the introduction of Hard Mode. Other than the fact that Loot Scaling depressed the prices of pretty much anything it hasn't caused any change to rare items availability - they are exempt from the scaling anyway. They still drop as often or as little as they ever have - in fact with the anti-farming code gone you can farm a single spot as often as you wish. However, with the introduction of Hard Mode *all* places drop max damage/mod golds and the drop rate is greatly increased - remember things like max damage Sephis Axes or Dead Bows being worth a lot? Not anymore, I've had as many as 6 max damage Dead Bows drop in one thirty minute run. As is, nearly all the old prophecies rares drop other places as non rares, are no longer rare because of HM, or you can get incribable ones. If you want to try and farm rare items then Nightfall is where you need to go - you have elemental swords, DoA items, and a few other "semi-rare" (icy/fiery bladed axes and such). Factions also has a very few left, but they are slowly loosing their value as people find places to farm them also (Hard Mode, of course). The few left (things like Mursaat Weapons) I don't see being sold much, I do not know if it is because no one is selling them or because no one wants them - I rather suspect that most people want insribable weapons and that skin is "old". |

Oh and you can also do Tombs or SF if you are trying to get some money, the greens dropped aren't as valuable as they used to be but they still fetch some gold.
